Biography of Amy Smolensky

Amy Smolensky, consultant to Pukelis & Lehrer, is a seasoned business-to-business communications professional with extensive experience in real estate and technology organizations. Amy’s areas of expertise include corporate and internal communications, media relations and community relations.

Currently, Smolensky is a communications consultant for a variety of companies, including Trizec Properties, Inc. where she is responsible for the company’s internal communications program and serves as the national director for the company’s corporate citizenship program.

Previously, Smolensky was a Vice President with Hill and Knowlton’s Technology practice in Chicago, where she was responsible for strategy development and management of communications programs for consumer technology and business to business clients. As a member of the advanced technology unit in the Hill & Knowlton Chicago office, Amy provided strategic counsel for Motorola’s Industrial Electronics Systems Sector (IESS), where she specialized in communications for the Telematics business unit. This work included the launch and execution of a communications program dedicated to Motorola’s “connected car” technology.

Prior to joining Hill and Knowlton, Amy was the public relations director for startup company VuStar Communications Inc., where she took part in a unique opportunity to play an integral role in the creation of a new business. Before joining VuStar, Amy served as the national public relations manager for the IT consulting practice of Grant Thornton, LLP, where she was responsible for the strategy development and tactical implementation of public relations programs relative to the practice’s e-business services and IT technology solutions. During her time at Grant Thornton, Amy established all of its communications programs including media and analyst relations, internal communications and industry research. Prior to Grant Thornton, she held positions with the Chicago offices of public relations agencies Ruder Finn, Inc. and S&S Public Relations, where she managed day-to-day media relations and corporate communications programs for IT and consumer product accounts.

Amy is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree with a Minor in Business.
